An Overview of Tourism Development Act 2077 of PMC  

Pokhara Metropolitan City(PMC) known as the tourism hub of Nepal, has unique assets for tourism and its development. Schedule 8 of the constitution of Nepal has provided the 22 sets of concurrent jurisdictions to the local government, and also some shared powers of Federal/Province and Local levels. Exercising it and 102(A) article of the Local Government Operation Act, the PMC introduced the Tourism Development Act 2077 with an objective to develop, expand, protect, and promote the tourist heritage, to create the social, cultural, economic, institutional, environmental, and information technology of the Pokhara Metropolitan City(PMC). This objective policy brief will focus to give a balanced understanding of the act, and its provisions along with the issues, impacts, and recommendations while practicing it.
