“Udham Clinic” (Enterprise Clinic Report, 2024/25), prepared by the Pokhara Research Centre (PRC) for the Pokhara Metropolitan City and its Business Promotion Center (BPC) aims to provide a comprehensive assessment of the challenges (Infrastructure, Policy & Regulations, Financial Access & Management, Marketing and Branding, Human Resources & Skill Development and Operational Management) faced by tourism-related enterprises in Pokhara and proposes a structured “Enterprise Clinic” model to support their sustainable growth and development, aligning with Pokhara’s vision as a prime tourism destination. The study involved a review of existing literature, legal documents, and relevant data. Primary data collection included Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with 15 participants, walkthrough surveys, and direct observations involving tourism entrepreneurs, experts, and stakeholders. Initially, 14 businesses were selected for the clinic program.

Likewise, the research report proposes a comprehensive module for the Enterprise Clinic based on three core pillars: Research, Mentorship and Financial Support. The report provides short-term (within 3 months) and long-term recommendations for both Pokhara Metropolitan City and the enterprises, categorized under Financial & Economic Management, Marketing Management, Governance Management and Infrastructure Development. In essence, this report serves as a diagnostic tool and a strategic blueprint for Pokhara Metropolitan City’s Business Promotion Center to effectively implement the “Udham Clinic.” It emphasizes a collaborative approach to identify and address the root causes of challenges faced by tourism enterprises, thereby fostering a more resilient, competitive, and sustainable tourism ecosystem in Pokhara.
