It focuses on economic impacts of the homestay tourism and policies and the strategies to promote homestay tourism. Homestay tourism is popular in many destinations; adds authentic socio-cultural richness to the tourist experience. For a nation that cannot make large investment in infrastructure a priority, but has great tourism wealth in remote communities, host families are an attractive alternative tourism product. The essence of Nepalese tourism lies in the naturally beautiful rural hills and mountains and its indigenous communities with their mystical lifestyle and culture. These natural and cultural attributes can best be displayed through host families. This book proposes homestays as a tourism opportunity in favor of rural people that promotes sustainable community development.
